More Nikon Z50II videos coming very soon. If you were wondering what USBC wall charger I bought to charge the battery in camera, it’s this one, does the job - www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/bonelk-wall-charger-usb-c-65w-black-elk21736r The battery takes a little over an hour to fully charge 🙏📸
Hmm, no battery charger means it may be necessary to carry a powerbank. Hence the free Anker powerbank that you got as a redemption! So photographers have to find a different kind of workflow with this camera. That 3.25 amp charger you bought is pretty powerful! Looking forward to your in depth review of the camera and lenses.
I think you’ll love the 18-140mm - it’s a brilliant lens…with VR and very fast, accurate auto focus, plus virtually no CA, - in fact, I’ve actually never seen any at all. I bought mine in 2022 for my Zfc - love that it has VR. And, remember on the Z50 ll crop sensor, that lens is a 27-210mm. It would be hard to overstate how good this lens is. Enjoy!
Well now you got me super excited! Thanks for watching 🙏

Great video Adrian and always good receiving a new camera - also a good tip. Many thanks for sharing and look forward to your review - have a great weekend
You know another cool feature of the Z50ii. The D6 autofocus custom focus. Imagine doing a interview out on the street and you use the slim vertical AF. Anything in the background or in frame but outside of the AF area won't affect your focus. That's really cool, and I think it doubles as frame lines. Wow that makes the Z50ii a really good photojournalists or event camera. Omg, that feature was really overlooked in the D6 which ppl wrote off as being a D5 in new skin. That's pretty strong for professional work. Especially if say you're recording a track and field event with all the stuff going on in the background, the camera should stay rock solid.
Congrats on the new camera! I decided to get the body only this time. Last time, I bought the two-lens kit with 16-50 and 50-250. I think I might be using it mostly with various third-party primes and of course the 180-600.
Congratulations, best of luck and enjoy the Z50II. I picked up the Z30 about a year ago as an alternative to my Z7 for street photography and loving it. PS....I picked up an after-market EN-EL25 charger with included 2 batteries for about the cost of one genuine Nikon battery. One year later and they are still going strong.
I’m thinking about getting this camera for my Granddaughter so I can’t wait to see your review. Maybe we can get a first day out with the Z50II, it’s frustrations and surprises, then maybe a month or two later a full review. Alright Adrian, you’ve teased us so let’s see what this camera can do.
5:56 you can charge the battery and use the camera with your power bank. Essentially infinite battery power if you buy or have a big battery bank. I wonder if a laptop can charge it too.
I hope Nikon make small cameras. Like Fujis XT30, XE4, XS20, XM5, etc. Or better yet, an small full frame like the original Sony A7, or A7C, ZVE1, etc. I want something really small to bring with me with a pair of small lenses.
Cool camera! When my D750 dies (just gor a free new shutter, recall still active) I may consider it. But it has only done 4700 clicks, so I guess I have to give myself a present before that. Congrats with it and happy clicking!
Hi Adrian, oh yes, it's always good to have a backup camera. A great video, buddy 😉Looks also like a good camera, by the way. Enjoy your weekend, Christian
Thank you for the unboxing. I don't know about Australia but it's a EU directive to manufacturers not to include chargers when it's USBC. I foresee the 2nd battery being indispensable. I ended up needing 4 batteries for my Z50. I don't think the autonomy on the mark 2 will be any better, unfortunately.
Sounds like a timely purchase with the other camera on its way out. The Z50ii looks like it will be super versatile. Can’t wait to see its bird capability! ✅
Yeah talk about timing - can't believe the ZV-1 died during the unboxing recording, too funny! I've been out with the Z50II today, having heaps of fun! Have a great weekend 🙏
Same with my Z30 no charger. Also it ran out of battery once during the night. I thought it may have been broken but after using usb-c charger, it turned on.
Weird thing about the little Sony. I read the same in the comments of other video in RUclips but about the ZVE10, an APSC small camera. Maybe is a processor problem. In my experience Sony lacks reliability in the cheap line. The highest line cameras are bombproof (A7R, A9, A1 segments). But the cheapest ones have problems, sadly.
@@richardrankin7488 thanks for watching. Yeah it’s like buying a car with 3 wheels. For it to work you have to buy another wheel from somewhere else. Consumers should have stood up to this BS when Apple started it. No charger.. then no buy product!
Mine arrive yesterday, same problem, unable to charge the battery, luckily my daughter was working here with her laptop, so managed to charge the camera with the laptop.
I’m curious about the EN-EL25a battery performance. The original battery is not reliable at all. I put it in the camera and use it for maybe an hour or less and it’s showing the battery in the red.
Hi Adrian, I am a Z50 owner with both kit lenses. I am not a wildlife photographer. Most of my photography is while traveling on vacation, family events and holidays. I not ready to upgrade to the Z50II, until i see more field reviews. The battery life on the Z50 is awful, so I need to carry multiple batteries while out shooting. I lucky the original Z50 came with a wall battery charger. In my opinion, Nikon made a real mistake not sending an out of body battery charger. And using a power bank in the field is not practical.
My biggest disappointment with the Z50II is no sensor cleaning function. Outside of that I really dig the little bugger. Crazy how small it is next to my Z9. SmallRig has a 1/2” baseplate for it as well to add a little more for the pinky.
@ Sir it’s a delight to watch your videos. Can you use 180-600mm lens with Z50ii and do bird photography. Actually I am also planning to buy so I can understand better and decide.
Hi Adrian, this looks like it could be just what I am looking for ... so definetly will look out for review videos from you. Re the lack of charger, I'm guessing that as the camera supports power delivery through USB C to charge the battery in camera, the expectation is that everyone has a usb charger of some sort already.
Thanks for watching. Yes, you're right - I have a heap of USB 3.0 to USBC chargers, but none of them worked. It had to be with that cable supplied with camera which is thicker and is USBC on both ends.
@@adrianalfordphotography That's an interesting point Adrian ( potentialy due to the curent drawn by the camera )... worth mentioning in a later review maybe. Many folk don't yet have USB C chargers, they tend to use USB 2 chargers with USB2 to USBC cables when a USBC device needs charging. I ceratinly do.
@@adrianalfordphotography according to the manual the charger (or powerbank) should be minimum of 9v 3a = 27w with USB-C outlet. I've been making my way through the manual as I wait for my Z50ii on its journey to Scotland from the Netherlands via Belgium and England. USB-C PD charging means no second battery is required, just keep the camera topped up as you go with a powerbank. One thing I'd like to see in future cameras is the USB socket brought out from behind a door onto the body for easier access. If it was on the base of the camera it would allow manufacturers to make grips/plates/L-brackets with powerbanks built in. Looking forward to your thoughts on the Z50ii, in the meantime I'll keep reading my way through the manual, it'll likely keep me going all weekend, its huuuuge!
All of the pre-release reviews, including in Australia, said it came with a dual battery charger, which struck me as odd because the EU has banned the inclusion of battery chargers and has mandated USB-C charging only. It's a cell phone thing aimed at Apple. I was hoping that maybe all but EU countries got the charger, but I guess not.

@@adrianalfordphotography I think you don't need a powerbank to test this, USB-connected charger should work as well (apart from the fact that you can't get far from the nearest power outlet). The perfect zoom lens for that camera 18-140mm DX … a total winner!! Cheers
